Nyhavn – Just Outside the Door Step
In the old days ships from all over the world
came to Nyhavn and life in the harbor had a look
of sailors, public houses, fille de joies and
party. In the twentieth century the merchant and
harbor area was beautifully renovated and now
contains many restaurants – indoors as outdoors.
Business men, tourists and other persons are
able to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere, the
varied cuisine, cold beer and jazz music. All
these mixed with loud talking and laughter keep
the nostalgic spirit of the harbor alive today. |
The Opera
The opera at Holmen was inaugurated in January
2005 and is one of the most modern and prominent
opera houses in the world. It is not far from
our holiday apartment – if you are by foot – it
is by far easiest to cross the canals by boat to
visit the opera.

Kongens Nytorv and Strøget
Strøget is the biggest shopping area in
Copenhagen. Strøget is known as the longest
pedestrianized street in the world. Here you
will find both low budget shops and
top-of-the-pops fashion designer shops. Strøget
starts at Kongens Nytorv.

Amalienborg Palace
A few minutes away from our holiday apartment
you will find Amalienborg Palace. This is where
the older reigning generation of the royal
family lives in Copenhagen during the winter.
